As part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, the Episcopal Church had early ties to the Church of England but became an independent denomination after the American Revolution. We are under the jurisdiction of the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, Katharine Jefforts Schori, and the Bishop of the Diocese of Central New York, Gladstone B. ‘Skip’ Adams. We’re also part of Province II which comprises the six dioceses of the state of New York, the two dioceses of state of New Jersey, the Diocese of Haiti, the Diocese of the Virgin Islands, and the Convocation of American Churches in Europe.
Locally we’re part of the Chenango District Episcopal churches, and we are beginning an exciting experiment in regional ministry in which we cooperate with our brothers and sisters at St. Paul’s, Oxford and St. Ann’s, Afton. We’re also part of a faith-rich group of Greene Area churches who represent assorted denominations.
